*VeVe-350Z has a stunning collection of photographs similar to Mmm delicious, but what really makes this particular one stand out from the rest is the bad-ass pose of the subject, the fly caught and eaten, and the way the artist has photographed the front in gorgeous detail. Really epic stuff! ( Featured by 3wyl )

This picture is EPIC, but a little confusing because of the angle and depth.  I can only see ~3.5 legs and a really funky head.  Had no clue this was a praying mantis.

Agreed...but I think that surprise adds to it :P like doing the freakishly zoomed zoom into patterns...you're not sure what it is and become pleasantly surprised (or horrified) when you realise what it is :P I have a similar photo somewhere of a damselfly eating a fly...it's kind of disturbing hehe

A little shaky- that's make this picture a bit blurry. If not, it would be really perfect. :)

I thought it was "Preying Mantis", not "Praying Mantis".

I think that both would be very accurate for mantises :D but yeah it's praying mantis. It's kinda weird how they look so innocent and then tear their victims to pieces :D

Yeah... "preying" seems a bit redundant, actually... ^^; :XD:

It's "Praying" because they look like they are praying.

Yes you're true, one of the leg is partially missing bacause of bad moulting. Fortunately it wasn't such a big problem she was able to catch prey with her healthy leg :)

It is... the left fore-tibia is missing. I'm just wondering if it will regenerate with further moltings? :o
